TalentLift is a non-profit international recruitment agency supporting Canadian employers to recruit and relocate talent from within refugee populations as a solution to skills shortages in Canada and displacement worldwide. TalentLift offers employers and the candidates they hire in-house services encompassing talent search, visa application, and settlement coordination.

TalentLift can support employers who are just getting started searching for talent, as well as employers who have already found a candidate on their own.

Independent recruitment

We’re here to support Canadian employers hire candidates who they’ve met independently from our talent search services. Some of our employer partners in this position are family members or friends of the candidate they’re hiring. Others met and interviewed the candidate after receiving a job application. Whatever your connection to a candidate, we welcome you to partner with us.

As a first step, our recruitment team will set up a call with you to learn more about your workplace, the job position and conditions, and the support you’re able to provide the candidate and their family on arrival.

Next, we’ll set up a call with the candidate to learn more about their skills and refugee circumstances, and assess eligibility of both you (the employer) and the candidate for an available skilled visa pathway to Canada.

We ask employers that independently find candidates to provide the following support:

  • Cover direct visa costs
  • Make a contribution to TalentLift’s non-profit operations
  • Provide airport pick-up and transitional housing for at least 3 weeks on arrival

TalentLift does not charge candidates any fees for services. If you (the employer) are unable to provide any of the support outlined above, we invite you to contact us and we can assess if and how we may still be able to support you.
