Ways to support people affected by earthquakes in Venezuela
Posted on June 25, 2026 by TalentLift

Several earthquakes hit north central Venezuela on Wednesday. At least 164 people have lost their lives, and 971 have been injured, and emergency rescue efforts continue.
The earthquakes caused several buildings to collapse in the capital Caracas. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates that the number of lives lost could ultimately range between 10,000 and 100,000.
Venezuela is already facing one of the world’s largest displacement crises driven by violence, inflation, and shortages of food, medicine, and essential services, and the earthquakes have further increased urgent humanitarian needs.
Many of the candidates we support have loved ones in Venezuela. We’re thinking of them and all the people in Venezuela affected by the disaster.
If you have the resources to donate to rescue and recovery efforts, here are a few options to consider:
- The International Rescue Committee is mobilizing emergency support to reach people affected by the crisis, including the delivery of essential relief items and critical medical supplies to frontline workers in the areas most impacted.
- Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is assessing the situation and determining how best to support relief efforts, while immediately donating emergency trauma kits to hospitals in Caracas to help provide critical care to those affected.
- The Canadian Red Cross has launched an appeal for funds for immediate relief, recovery efforts, resilience, and preparedness activities.
Please research the organization and campaign that seems right to you before giving.
